Thailand Diving Sites
Hin Daeng (Red Rock) and Hin Muang (Purple Rock) are considered the best dive sites in Thailand outside of the Similans. They offer steep walls, masses of fish and healthy soft coral gardens which give the pinnacles their names. Whalesharks and in particular manta rays can be seen here on a regular basis and is one of the highlights of Hin Daeng diving.
Koh Haa is located between Phi Phi and Hin Daeng and is a cluster of 5 small islands. There are several dive sites here including the famous ‘Twin Cathedrals’ at Koh Haa Yai where you find two enormous caverns with their entrance at 10-14m depth. You can surface inside and witness huge stalactites above you and the beautiful light coming into the caverns entrance. ‘The Chimney’ at Koh Haa Neu is another great spot where you can enter a funnel created by steep walls that are covered in corals and full of fish.
