Tourism Authority of Thailand License

The travel and tour guide business is regulated by the Tourist Business and Guide Act. Before engaging in the tourist business, any tour operator such as a Scuba Dive Centre/Tour Operator has to apply for a TAT license Phuket (Tourism Authority of Thailand) with the Tourist Business and Guide Registration Office.  It is super important for you to scuba dive with a TAT registered Dive Centre Instructor in Phuket for 1) Your safety 2) The company you book with isn’t legal if they don’t have a TAT license Phuket 3) TAT registered businesses have TAT Insurance in case of an emergency – sounds like normal every day business, yes?  We’d like to think so too, but we hear far to many stories of businesses that have no TAT license and haven’t by law, registered their guests for insurance, are trading illegally and have been dealt a hefty fine or in cases where accidents have occurred, prison sentences have been given.  Read the story of how 20 tourists got left at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere HERE

Here at Andy’s Scuba Diving we have got you covered – our TAT license (34/01648) has just been renewed for the next 2 years and of course, we have you covered with our TAT Insurance!

Covid 19 has broken the world but there is light at the end of the tunnel now, especially for Phuket, as it has now been confirmed that from 1 July vaccinated foreigners can enter the Island without quarantine as Phuket will be a ‘sandbox’ destination – see the full article HERE.

We cannot wait to serve our guests again, take you to the delightful dive sites we have around Phuket & Phi Phi.  There are some quality Dive Centres in Phuket, all TAT license Phuket, registered and are like us, waiting for the world to reopen.  You can check if the Dive Centre you have booked with has a TAT license Phuket with the TAT office and our advice is, if they are not listed then book with a reputable TAT registered Scuba company.

Happy Safe Diving! 😉
